Porsche is showing photos for the first time of the new four-door model, which will be launched on the market at the end of summer 2009. The touring sports car is the fourth Porsche series, whose predecessors were the 911, the Boxster and the Cayenne.

With its new model, as expected, Porsche is continuing its tradition of typical Porsche features – distinctly contoured wings that flank the flat bonnet, pronounced wheel arches and the long lines of the GT silhouette.

Furthermore, the Panamera combines typical sports car genes with a classic limousine shape. The interior is generously sized and offers the occupants sufficient freedom of movement. The rear seats are ergonomically designed as individual seats. The boot offers plenty of room for luggage and can be expanded by dropping either or both of the rear seats.

The Panamera’s performance will be 300-500 hp depending on the engine. It comes with rear wheel drive, which can be replaced by four-wheel drive as an option, which is otherwise standard only for the top model.

The Panamera is produced at the Leipzig plant and the majority of parts will also be produced in Germany. Porsche is expecting annual sales of 20,000 vehicles.
